Sometimes magical encounters with Cast Members happen randomly at the Polynesian. I have been told a lot of stories of Cast Members sharing the aloha spirit with people as they enter the lobby of the resort. They take the time to greet them and talk to them for a minute or two. Often people share their story of why they are at the resort. Sometimes it is for a birthday, anniversary or maybe just a vacation. Sometimes people are just checking out the resort or eating at 'Ohana or Kona Cafe. More than once I have seen weddings at the Polynesian. Here is a story sent to me by Carye Gonzalez about her and her husband's experience while going through the Great Ceremonial House to take wedding photos at the resort.
I wrote about how the true Aloha Spirit was created at the Polynesian by its Cast Members back in an article a few years ago. Since then I have gotten stories from people about how much the Cast Members are a big part of making their visit special and how some go back to the Polynesian just because of those friendships that were started while they were on vacation at the resort. I decided it was time to create a section devoted to sharing the stories with my readers.
Erin shared her story with me about a special Cast Member that went above and beyond what he needed to do as his daily job. Sometimes it takes more thought than effort to make a big difference in a persons visit to the resort. Here is her story of how a Cast Member made a difference in her visit to the Polynesian.
To so many visitors to the Polynesian the Cast Members become their extended family. I know that they get paid to be nice and make you feel welcome but when they go out of their way to say hello to you on your visit or do little special things they did not need to do, I really believe they enjoy seeing you as much as you enjoy seeing them. Here is the comments left by the Crimando family.
