Kona Cafe

Kona CafeOne of the more recent additions to the Polynesian's selection of restaurants is Kona Cafe. Introduced in 1998, it has become a favorite to many Walt Disney World visitors. It is where you can get a taste of the Polynesian's famous Tonga Toast.

Replacing Coral Isle Cafe in 1998, Kona Cafe will serve you the best American Cuisine with subtle Asian flavors. For lunch try the Pot Stickers and Kona Club. Your choices for dinner range from fresh fish selections to Prime Rib. You can start out with some Crab Cakes while you decide.

When you are done you can check out the best deserts in Disney World. You can also get a cup (or 10) of the best coffee in Walt Disney World (100% Kona coffee). Straight from Hawaii to your cup.

This is by far my favorite place to relax and eat. I love the breakfast but I can't decide if I like lunch or Dinner best. The introduction of their version of a Hawaiian Plate Lunch is one of my favorites and ordering the sushi sampler from Kona Island Sushi around dinner time is one of my favorites.

I know some do not like the open atmosphere of the place but it is one of the things I like best about it. I can see, hear and smell all that goes on in the Great Ceremonial House from my seat at Kona. I can even watch the monorail go by outside the window. Service for the most part has been good and I have not had a bad meal there yet.

Breakfast is from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Lunch will start at 12:00 noon and finish at 3:00 p.m. They will start serving dinner at 5:00 p.m. and close the kitchen at 10:00 p.m.
